He was born October 2nd 1869 in Porbandar India.
On March 12, 1930 Gandhi started the march to gthe sea to protest the British monopoly of salt.
This was civil disobedience because he took part in a protest to oppose the unjust rule of the salt monopoly because it was a big part in Indian diet.

While Thoreau only wrote about protesting, MLK participated in many of them.
