         <description><![CDATA[<div>What is your plan of action to be successful?  What goals do you have to be successful?  I cannot just walk into Hollywood, and say "here I am...."  I have to practice my tap dancing, singing, acting, etc."  I cannot walk up to Wall Street and say I want to be a millionaire stockbroker."  I have to take accounting.  What is your plan?<br><br>How do you think students should be assessed (tested)?  Now, unfortunately, students have to be tested to find out what they know.  Do you think students should be tested by 1) taking a test or 2) doing something...writing answers or discussing answers.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>FOR ENGLISH 3, BUT WE CAN ALSO LOOK AT THIS FOR ENGLISH 2. If your family has lot of money, you may not need to worry about looking for a job. For most of the world, people have to get jobs in order to survive. There is a process people go through.<br></strong><br></div><div>1.  Resume<br>2.  Collecting References<br>3.  Interview<br>4.  Sometimes taking tests before or after the interview.<br><br>A resume is usually one page, and it is snapshot of why you are  qualified for the job.  Usually it is chronological...in time order.  It may say that you went to Dallas Community College and received a 3.2 grade point average (which is about a B) and then below that you went to Pearce High School and you had a 4.0 grade point average (all A's)<br><br>Collecting references is where you ask former employers or teachers to recommend you for a job.  There is an article down below in how to do that.<br><br>Interview is where you go to the place you want to work, and they ask you a series of questions to see if you are qualified for a job.  Let's say, you are going to be a former legal secretary (that is how I started out).  Some people only want 60 words per minute for typing; some people want a 100 words per minute and will take nothing less.<br><br>Tests are sometimes given to see if you are qualified.  If you want to be an accountant and handle the money at a company.  They want to see if you know how to handle spreadsheets of incoming money and outgoing money.  <br><br>There is a template of how to ask for a reference.  You really should ask before you give someone as a reference.<br><br><a href="https://www.betterteam.com/how-to-ask-for-a-letter-of-recommendation">https://www.betterteam.com/how-to-ask-for-a-letter-of-recommendation</a></div>]]></description>
