The Deaf Community also takes the extra step to create a new subculture, meaning if the Deaf Culture tries to convince any of the international community to use devices like hearing aids or cochlear implants while having them participate in a public school setting with hearing children, they could make an argument and risk the deaf culture being eliminated along with being subjected to the same treatment.

Other ways include certain medicines, injuries, or even diseases. Depending on the loss, hearing aids/cochlear implants can help somewhat, and lip-reading and sign language can help with communication.
