He was born on July 30, 1863 in Wayne County, Michigan. Ford spent most of his life making headlines. Both good and bad. He was known by many as the technological genius or folks hero. He was one of the main creative driving force that revolutionized America. Henry was one of eight children of William and Mary Ford. He was raised on the family farm near Dearborn, Michigan. When he wasn't helping his father with the harvest he attended a one-room school for 8 years. At just 16 years of age, he walked all the way to Detroit for work.

On June 16, 1903, Henry and 12 others invested $28,000 and created Ford Motor Company. Later the first car built by the Company was sold on July 15, 1903. Henry owned 25.5% of the stock in the new organization. Eventually, he became president and controlling owner in 1906.

Later Ford would come up with an enhanced model of the 1 cylinder model, the quadricycle. It was made with 4 bicycle wheels attached to a frame. Nowadays, the business is thriving.
