While Central Park today is extremely beautiful and a site to behold, it's awful what happened to the people living on that land. After building so much and prospering with one another, they were just torn from their lives because the elite class didn't think they were valuable enough. I feel like it was extremely illegal to take their land, as everyone living there had paid for it and was given rights from it.

It is sad that the Seneca Village was destroyed as result of advancement. We see this happening all across the country ~ from these past histories we can appreciate the progress and preservation. I'm glad that historians are preserving the history of this space to give purpose to the efforts of the people who settled here previously.
