Each year tens of thousands of nonhuman primates are captured and kept as pets, and used for scientifical testing.

Many are exploited and abused leading to long lonely and miserable lives.

Thousands of primates are used for research in the U.S, many are bred at the facilities while others are imported all over the world in cargo boxes. Many others are housed in metal cages for their whole lives. they are subjected to procedures such as surgery, ingestion of a toxic substance that are likely to cause them pain, distress, and suffering. Studies recently shown have said the toxins and chemicals that the primates are exploited to are far too dangerous to introduce to mankind. Given the idea primates are being used for studies, and experiments that will have no future affect to humans due to the dangers of the chemicals/toxins.

Many people such as Steven Hawking believe that mankind evolved from animals, including from primates.

Details that have helped support this theory have been shown by simple non-harming studies. The way they communicate with other animals; as well as their ability to undertstand sign language are all evidence to the possibility that we could have evolved from these primates. If they are so much like humans why would they subdued to such harmful experiments?
