The Sixth Commandment

I personally believe this is the most widely violated Commandment. Computers are still considered a new commodity, as they have been improved over the years. Many of the software we use to day were first discovered for criminal purposes. For example, before computers, Music Vinyls, Records and CDs had to be purchased in a store and then a device was needed to listen to the music. When computers and the internet were introduced to the public, the company "Napster" was the first company to successfully allow users to stream music directly from the internet. Before Napster was legitimized, they were formed by a group of people who hosted music to be streamed by anyone for free (ultimately preventing artists and musicians to earn capital on record sales) which in turn led to the development of music streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify. As unfortunate as the situation may seem, it is typical that many people who find ways to circumvent cyberlaws end up being hired by the people they intrude in order to develop a more safe and progressive internet.

These violations occur for many different reasons. Just like the internet, computers are constantly being expanded. They are being built faster, smarter, lighter and easier every day. Many people find themselves violating Computer Commandments without them realizing that they are! It is most commonly found that people trying to create the future of computers will break commandments in the process believing that they are focusing on "the greater good." There can be arguments made for both sides, however I believe that there can be technology improved without violating these commandments. That is why it is important to be respectful of yourself and others by being aware of the Computer Commandments while using any computer!
