Well because you will need to know where you are going and it can help you instead of caring all of the big compass. The compass will help because its small and it will help 

2) Guns… Guns can help because one you will always need them just in case something goes down to where you will have to use them. The other reason is so when you need food you will be able to get it easier when you got a gun.

3) hatchets… Hatches can help you because you can cut and chop stuff like trees. You can use it because if you need to help you with fish or a deer.

4) shoes… You always need shoes so you don't step on anything that will hurt you. The other thing is if you don't have shoes you will step on stuff that ain't good so you always need shoes.

5) blankets You need planks to make stuff and to cover stuff up with it. You also need to stay worm….

York was a slave and they let him do more than other slaves were it was ike he was a slave when he washing and he hunted with a gun and other slaves couldn't but other then that he did the same thing as all the other slaves did and when he got back he was a slave but later on he was not a slave no more and then he made his own business.

My 2st person is seaman
Seaman was a dog that helped them find and he helped find things and to pro test and the dog even went to war and like the dog was big and then everything about the dog all he did was help .
