Some schools issue iPads to students as personal devices to use for academic purposes. Some schools have sets of iPads that you can check-out from your school library or from your tech teacher, for your students to use in the classroom. If your school doesn't have iPads on campus, you can write up a proposal to request for iPads for your school that your school can purchase with money allocated for technology. If you can't get the iPads purchased though the school, there are platforms that you can use to have people donate money to buy supplies for your classroom. If you receive enough funds you could purchase iPads for your classroom this way. Another idea if you can't get enough funds to purchase the iPads on your own is to go in with a team teacher or two to purchase iPads for your classes to share.

Along with the ability to download apps for students, there are accessibility features on the iPad itself that supports all learners. Features such as speak screen and speak selection, which allows text on the screen to be read to the viewer. Focus, which silents all notifications so students can focus better on the task at hand. Voice control, which allows students to use the iPad with their voice. Type to Siri, which allows students to type to Siri instead of speaking to Siri. In math, students can practice math skills on apps like IXL and can practice math skills through games on apps like Prodigy. In science, students can become astronomers and explore our solar system through apps like NASA Visualization Explorer, or become cellular biologists by viewing and learning about animal, plant, and bacteria cells in an interactive way through apps like HudsonAlpha iCell. In language arts, students can practice reading skills through apps like Lexia or practice grammar skills through apps like Grammaropolis. In Social Studies, students can film a dramatization of a historical event that they are learning about in class or they can use safari (internet) to research a historical figure for a presentation board that they are creating. Students can also enrich themselves in many cultures of the world through apps such as GeoWalk and Kids World Cultures. iPads can also be used in other subjects such as art, drama, P.E., languages, etc. There are many apps that can be utilized in art, drama, languages, P.E., etc.

They are interactive review games that the whole class can participate in at the same time.
 Another way to include the iPad in lesson plans is by planning to use the iPads to complete district-wide requirements such as reading and math programs that students are required to complete. iPads are easy to navigate because they are touch-screen and do not require the user to know how to use a mouse or a touch pad on a laptop. The previous district that I worked in required our students to spend a set amount of time a day in both IXL and Lexia. Our students were issued iPads and we found that students were able to use the iPads easier than the chromebooks/ desktops when it came to working within these programs. 
Another way teachers can include the iPad in lesson plans, is by planning to have students practice skills they are learning in class, in literacy and math centers by using literacy and math apps on the iPads.
