The concert took place on September 20^th 2017 in the Murchison Performance Arts Center. This performance really placed an emphasis on how important and influential music is. The concert itself was amazing. The pieces performed in the concert consisted of Symphony No.2: The Age of Anxiety, and Symphony No.5, Op 100.  The first piece had a huge story behind it, as it was based/interpreted off of the poem, Age of Anxiety, by W.H. Auden. Leonard Bernstein composed the the piece off of this poem. The second piece was composed by Sergei Prokofiev. This soviet musician used influences and movements from the war to compose this piece. With these influences, his piece swept through the nation as it debuted in 1944. Together, these pieces created a masterpiece of a concert that was performed that night. The architecture of the building is beautiful. The inside of the performance hall looked beautiful in any type of lighting. Overall, I enjoyed the concert very much and would gladly watch it again. ]]> 2017-10-01 06:52:31 UTC https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192729556 bsaenz0306 https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192794927 We were handed program notes, which gave more background about the composers and pieces. ]]> 2017-10-01 18:45:58 UTC https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192794927 bsaenz0306 https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795294 2017-10-01 18:46:25 UTC https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795294 bsaenz0306 https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795364 2017-10-01 18:46:52 UTC https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795364 bsaenz0306 https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795429 2017-10-01 18:47:27 UTC https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795429 bsaenz0306 https://padlet.com/bsaenz0306/qaf1jpmpgije/wish/192795782 “Music can name the unnamable, and communicate the unknowable."
