I love this picture. It was taken at place called M50 in Shanghai. I particualr like the way that the couple are looking at me the photographer. I also like the way it juxtaposes the old and new in China. I went back to Shanghai in July hoping to take some more pictures with the graffiti as a backdrop. Unfortunately, it no longer exists. It has been knocked down to make way for a new building!!!

I took this picture in 2019 in Kuala Lumpur. Brightly-lit and high-rise buildings, famous landmark - Petronas Twin Towers and tourists from all around the world in the rooftop pool shows the boom and modernization of Malaysia. Malaysia's history of being invaded and colonized by capitalistic states maybe provide the economic basis for the modernization of Malaysia.

Trinity nuclear (counter)strike in China

I took the photos here in August, 2019 when I paid a visit to the people' s Revolutionary Military Affairs Museum in Beijing. The picture shows part of the trinity nuclear (counter)strike of China, the only P5 member in Asia. The reason I put the picture here is simple. I would like to show that Asia, especially modern Asia has never been repelled from the most advanced technologies in the world. As for nuclear military usage, it can be regarded only by European powers or "Western" powers (Soviet Union can be defined as European country). Looking back through the history, technologies originated from the "Western" world used to be difficultly mastered by "Oriental" countries, however modernized world has completely let the previous consequence gone. The photo shows here proves that people in a modern Asia can also process the most advanced science.

The high-speed rail in eastern China

This is a photo taken in the Ningbo train station, where people could get convenient transportation by both the train and the high speed rail to almost everywhere in China. I have been to Paris and the transportation there seems unconvenient to me, compared with my experience back in Ningbo. China now have very advanced technology in building the high-speed rails and building the infrastructure, which could possibly be the representative of 'Modern'.
