This article on eating healthy from NBC News shares that high sugar foods in people's diet can rewire their brain circuits. Researchers stated that sugary snacks activate the brains dopamine system, giving people a sense of reward. Although eating these foods can feel good, eating them too often can lead to an unhealthy diet. Study shows that small dietary changes can rewire brain circuits and increase long-term risk of overeating. Overeating, can possibly lead to a lot of weight gain causing individuals to form health issues (diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc.) Teachers can inform their students about a healthy diet by sharing nutrition facts and the benefits fruits, veggies, and a balance can have. Teachers also can represent a healthy diet by packing a balanced lunch to model and provide healthy and sweet snacks at school.
NBCUniversal News Group.

This informative film on physical activity from Good Morning America shares the benefits of exercising outdoors. The story first shown by Washington Post shares that taking your exercise to nature helps with motivation and willingness to stick to a routine. Indoor exercise did not trump outdoor exercise as being in the greenery forces people to put their trouble aside and clear their mind. This is helpful when dealing with high levels of stress and negative mental obstacles. Resetting the brain by working outdoors supports better concentration and oxygen flow. To begin this process it is important to set goals as it will influence them to progress their physical activity. It is essential for teachers to know the benefits of working out outdoors to share these ideas with their students. By sharing physical activity ideas teachers are helping their students improve the ability to stay on task and help their children reduce disruptive behavior by improving engagement after working out in some way.

Good Morning America.
