My multi-genre project is about the very popular play, Romeo and Juliet. This Shakespearean play is about two star-crossed lovers who were doomed to be split apart because they were born to opposing families. The theme of the play that I am choosing to make this project about is that kids and young adults are very impulsive and don't think things through enough, especially Romeo.

This is a leaderboard for a 100 meter dash event held at Verona which shows Romeo running the fastest. This relates to my theme of impulsivity because it shows how fast and quick Romeo is to react because to be a fast runner, you have to have a fast reaction so you can start a race quicker.

This is Romeo's playlist with a lot of rap, and fast or aggressive music. This helps represent the rash and impulsive thinking of characters in the play, such as Romeo, because the playlist has songs that give off a fast and impulsive tone due to the lyrics and speed of the song.

This wanted poster tells that Romeo is exiled to Mantua and is not allowed back in Verona. This poster represents the part of the story where the prince exiles Romeo after he kills Tybalt. This poster shows the theme of kids being irrational because Romeo fought and killed Juliet's cousin in a duel even though they had just married and that would hurt her. It shows his irrational nature by him not being able to make a rational decision when faced with adversity.

The image is a boxing arena which relates to the many duels which happened in Romeo and Juliet. The boxing arena goes along with the impulsivity theme as it represents the many duels and therefore deaths of characters such as Tybalt, Paris, and Mercutio. It shows impulsivity because boxing is a very aggressive sport that requires one side to get injured heavily for there to be a winner, much like the duels and irrationality of them.

The image shows a boxing arena which is meant to symbolize the duels in Romeo and Juliet. That is because both boxing and duels end up with heavy injuries and sometimes death, as well as they are both very aggressive and irrational to take part in because of the high risk for injury. This boxing ring shows the theme of impulsivity through it's connection to duels and it's impulsivity as shown through the death of many characters, such as Tybalt and Paris.

"Here's to my love! O true apothecary! They drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." (Page 1139, lines 119-120). This quote shows impulsivity because Romeo heard that Juliet was dead, so he purchased a poison and killed himself next to her even though she wasn't really dead and she only drank a potion to make it seem like that.

"Yea, noise? Then I'll be brief. O happy dagger! This is thy sheath; there rust, and let me die." (Page 1141, lines 168-170). This quote is after Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo lying dead next to her. A few lines before the quote she tells everyone to leave her alone with Romeo, but she did this so she could take Romeo's knife and stab herself with it. And since any form of self harm is irrational and a bad choice, it shows her irrationality in a major way.

"Romeo, away, be gone! The citizens are up, and Tybalt slain," (Page 1092, 125-126). This shows Romeo being irrational because after Tybalt kills Mercutio, Romeo goes and kills Tybalt even though he had just married Juliet a few hours ago. This shows his irrationality because instead of waiting for the prince and having Tybalt getting exiled, he killed him which would make Juliet more sad than if he was exiled.

"Is death misterm'd. Calling death "banishment," Thou cuttst my head off with a golden axe." (Page 1099, lines 20-21). The lines above are from Romeo saying that he'd rather die than be banished from Verona and have to be away from Juliet. This shows impulsivity because self harm is impulsive and never a solution to a problem, but it will only create more problems and sadness for others.

"It was the lark, the herald of the morn; No nightingale. Look, love, what envious streaks..." (Page 1106, lines 6-7). This line is Romeo telling Juliet that he heart the lark, a bird that comes out in the morning and not the nightingale that comes out in the night. This shows irrationality because Juliet is lying to Romeo and trying to convince him that it is still night and that he should stay in her room and not leave which is dangerous since Romeo should already be gone.
