Analysis- African Americans can walk down the street and they can get discriminated against or treated like they're less than. The Black community is treated less than because of the color of their skin. The way they get treated can be stressful and even traumatizing.

Some people started to work on their health insurance at a young age but most African Americans don't start until they are 26 years old. A primary care professional can help when African Americans are going through things.  "It can be helpful to ask questions to get a sense of their level of cultural awareness" before working with them. Some questions you can ask are 

• "Did I feel like I was treated with respect and dignity?
• Do I feel like my provider understands and relates well with me"?
