I really liked your growth mindset in your presentation. The pros on learning on-line. Sometimes there is negative towards that form of learning. Do you feel there is more connection on-line? Do you think some student's mental health has been better by choosing to go on-line?

It would be really daunting to design a program that hasn't been created. I really like the different assessment opportunities you give to students to have the freedom to demonstrate their learning in a way that works for them.

I really like how you have been able to use your grade 8 students are mentors for the younger grades. I also like how much you have been able to build your differentiation skills and provide multiple access points for your students. Well done!

I love the idea of children on the spectrum being good performers. It really made me reflect on all the stress we put on children with autism before concert time - no other kid has this much pressure on them, no wonder they get overwhelmed and don't want to perform, or bolt during the performance or whatever happens that we worry about happening. The idea of treating someone as "other" isn't always inclusive, maybe they just want to perform like any other kid! Sahil is so lucky that you came into his life =)

Wow, there was so much I felt so connected to all your work. I am so sorry for the loss of your student - it is so hard to connect that with also that student in the hole picture - so much is put on our shoulders and we want to save everyone, and the helplessness we can feel is so heavy...thinking of you with big hearts. All the beginning trauma/bias/system stuff...we are so on the same page there, and I agree that I am so happy that we are badasses, and so thankful your school and our district has you! Really good math stuff too! =)

You blow my mind every time you present, you are so creative. You remind me to always pay attention to all learner's strengths and abilities as you always find a way to express your learning in such a personally meaningful way. Good for you for recognizing that you need to take care of yourself first and foremost- such a hard thing for us to do when we are thinking of the students in the holes... I went to a workshop with Elaine Alec and she discussed this - that she became a healthier caregiver once she was able to realize she couldn't save everyone. SOOO hard. Thanks for sharing.
