I believe that there is an after life and you either do to Heaven and Hell. I've heard multiple stories of people making a deal with the devil. I also believe that there are ghosts. I've heard of many paranormal experiences and sort of had my own encounter.

The devil doesn't really mean much to me. I honestly don't care about him that much. He's just a metaphor for death, nothing more. In literature the devil is some kind of "demon" that takes your soul if you lose a bet. Aside from people's interpretations, those are the only pieces of proof we have that the devil exists. The devil is just a fictional creature.

To me, the devil can mean two things. One is a biblical being of a person who will take you soul if you haven't lived a good life. The second thing is a metaphor of death. When you make a deal with him, such as in The Tale of The Three Brothers, most of the time your end result will be death. But really, the devil is really just a fictional, make-believe character.

Rather than actually believe the devil is a real concept which infects my world he is much more interesting in a literary sense. Even though I was indoctrinated into a religion which worships Jesus I cannot be sure if the exact words are true. The devil itself may or may not be real but that is not what I would like to talk about. A character which is the incarnation of evil within the world can be interesting and add to the lore of a fictional world and even though he represents all bad things in the world the idea of devil can be fleshed out as much as any other character. Through his many representations in the media and our human culture in general he becomes many things. I would like to state not what the devil is to me but what I wish they were like. Through my fictional cannon for the universe the Devil is a being grounded not in suffering but the independence of man from godly beings, not making him inherently evil but by nature rebellious to all ideas created by that god-like being, influencing humanity to turn away from a godly authority.

To me, I feel that the devil is a representation of all things evil or not good in terms of when he is used in literature and more. I think this because all villains in literature seem to stem from this being in some shape or form due to his wicked nature. Furthermore, in terms of the religion of Christianity, the devil is always personified as a being who represents death and all things that are not good.

In a literary sense, the devil can the good and bad things that a character has done throughout the story. For example, if an overconfident, cocky, or arrogant character was to fight the devil, they would surely lose. However, if an innocent character was to come into contact with the devil, it is likely that they would prevail as reward for their good actions.
