Two main factors contribute to the variety of climates, the Andean mountain range and the Humboldt Current. Climate in Peru can be divided in three different zones, the desert that borders the Pacific Ocean to the West, the rainforest to the east and the Andes mountain range in between the coast and the rainforest. There are other climates within each region, the summer is the rainy season and in the winter it is the foggy/dry season.

Peruvian typical dress in some regions are layers of bright skirts called polleras and other parts were black skirts with a wide embroidered belt and or cotton petticoats for the cold and rainy season. Woolen or straw hats are common. Today 90% of Perú believes in Christianity. Art and architecture affects Perú’s culture greatly because the artifacts from the past are example of artistic expression which was shown through paintings and the cathedrals made.

Perhaps the most popular dish is ceviche food, in the Andes is based on native plants  such as potatoes, quinoa and local animals such as guinea pigs and llamas, fried bananas is the most common garnish to every dish, Fish and local fruits are the base of many dishes. . The potato is the main ingredient in many Andean dishes. Fun fact there are over 4,000 types of potatoes in Perú.
