The history of robots from Greek time to 1801 have see a vast improvement in the development of robots. During the Greek times. There was creation of mechanics with the invention of the steam powered pigeon. As the years passes, more complex mechanics came out such as the Flute Player which used far more complex mechanisms to move the fingers to play the instrument. Another major invention were suing machines and irrigation systems that developed and were more complex than the inventions such as the pigeon. This development growth between the Greek times to 1801 is immense and foreshadows the growth for years like 2021 and beyond where we have smartphones and AI.

(By Theodore John Kaczynski)

1. Introduction

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater
social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in “advanced” countries.

2. The industrial-technological system may survive or it may break down. If it survives, it may eventually achieve a low level of physical and psychological suffering, but only after passing
through a long and very painful period of adjustment and only at the cost of permanently reducing human beings and many other living organisms to engineered products and mere cogs in the social machine.

Most of the robots in greek times were novelties and not something that could be used in real life. Such examples are the tank, flying bird, mechanical knight. Why these inventions were not so applicable to real life is because the invention such as the tank, needed lots and lots of iron to manufacture the tanks thus making it very hard to make it. The flying bird was also just a novelty because there wasn't a real reason to make it except for experiments. The mechanical knights was also a novelty because it wasn't really applicable to real life. Nowadays, we have machines that are applicable to real life such as motor, engines, cars, etc... All things that could be used in real life.
