I am genuinely so sorry for your loss. Mr. Arce was a good man. I have heard such great things about Mr. Arce and how he has changed so many students' lives. Including my sister's, she had him this year, he was her favorite teacher and he inspired her.

First I want to say that I am sorry for your loss and I hope we can all gain strength and happiness back into our lives, you will be in my prayers. Ismael Arce was a wonderful teacher, but I did not just see him as a teacher, I also saw him as someone I could look up to for guidance or for motivation. I was a student of his for 2 years, history 10 and Mexican American history this year for my junior year. He treated all of his students with kindness and cared for us as if we were his own children. There were days when students would not be motivated to work and he would be very understanding if they did not feel up to working that day. Witnessing this made me realize that I could let him know what was happening with me and him being understanding of it. He has taught me a lot like being a critical thinker and so much about my culture. I am so grateful to have known Mr. Arce for as long as I did. I know that he would have wanted me to celebrate his death, for the times he was here, as it’s apart of the culture we shared. ¡Viva Ismael Arce! <3 -Isabella Ortiz
