This required me to step up and take care of things a licensed teacher would normally be doing. Over the last couple of months, I learned how to manage behavior problems and escalations, teach nonverbal children effective ways to communicate, plan lessons that the students will enjoy, and help them gain life skills that they can carry with them all their lives. I also worked to create an environment where it is safe for the students to learn.
