- The riot started out peacefully but became more agressive when a lesbian was handled roughly by the police.

- The Gay Liberation Front organized the first pride march. They only existed for a few years, but they had a huge impact anyway. 
- In the 1980 many laws against gay people were struck down and it was becoming legal to be gay.
