-Ryan Stiltz

Would it be ok if I took some of your time?
Would it be ok if I wrote you a rhyme?
Would it be ok if I opened my heart?
Would it be ok if I took on the part
Of being your man and showed you a view,
One that only a real man could do?
Would it be ok if I could make you smile?
Would it be ok if I held you awhile?
Would it be ok if I kissed your face?
Would it be ok if I were to replace
All the men in your past that just wouldn't do
And vow to be faithful and always be true?
Would it be alright to look in your eyes?
Would it be alright to never tell lies?
Would it be alright to find a way?
Would it be alright to long for the day
To pull you close and whisper in your ear
And tell you our feelings are nothing to fear?
Would it be ok if I took some of your time?
Would it be ok if I wrote you a rhyme?
To tell you there's nothing I'd rather do
Than spend my whole life loving only you...

The theme of this poem is "would it be okay," to fall in love with you and the author portrays this theme by asking questions that begin with, "would it be okay?"

I included this poem because it represents them asking if it is ok or alright to fall in love with the other person. By the author repeatedly asking "Would it be okay..." and then asking different things you do for someone when you are in love.

This poem appealed to me because I love how the author is asking if they can fall in love with them without ever really asking those exact words. It makes it so much more meaningful with asking if they can do all of these loved based actions.

This poem fits with the others because with all of the other poems they end with talking about them being together forever. Then it differs from the other two poems because it is asking if they can fall in love .

I choose this image because I could just image the guy in the picture asking if he could love the girl forever.

-Mercedes

You are the sun that shines brightly throughout my day.
You are the gravity that holds me down in every way.
You are the moon that shimmers throughout my night.
You are stars that glimmer oh so bright.

You are the oxygen that keeps me alive.
You are my heart that beats inside.
You are the blood that flows through me.
You are the only guy I can see.
You have the voice of when a mockingbird sings.
You are my everything.

You are my one and only.
You stop me from being so lonely.
We plan our future as if we have a clue.
I never want to lose you.
I want you to be my husband, and I want to be your wife.
I want to be with you for the rest of my life.

The theme of this poem is that sometimes reliance is better than dependency in relationships, therefore, you can always count on each other.

I thought this poem showed how much you start to care about and get so attached to someone whenever you are in love I thought it fit well into my anthology because it shows the beginning stages of love where you have started to fall in love, and they are starting to become your everything and you start to depend on them.

This very descriptive poem appealed to me because of how it describes that is okay to rely on your love and be able to connect them to their heart, and oxygen they need. I think sometimes people look at it like there is something wrong with you if you depend on someone else. Therefore having this poem is another side of the story proves that you can find happiness in another person through and it is amazing.

This poem fits with the others because with all of the other poems they end with talking about them being together forever. This poem differs because instead of asking they are telling what that person is to them.

This picture made me think of a close relationship because of how her color starts to fade into his at the bottom connecting them.

-Mrs. Creeves

A million stars up in the sky.
One shines brighter - I can't deny.
A love so precious, a love so true,
a love that comes from me to you.
The angels sing when you are near.
Within your arms I have nothing to fear.
You always know just what to say.
Just talking to you makes my day.
I love you, honey, with all of my heart.
Together forever and never to part.

The brightest star in the sky represents her lover. The theme is after a love becomes strong enough you will be to be together forever.

Finally this the last stage of being in love to me. I included this because they have already fallen in love, and the author wants to be "Together forever and never to part" which I think to be marriage.

This short but sweet poem applealed to me because it reminded me of my grandmother, and grandfather. They have been together ever since high school. Whenever I imagine how I want my love to be I just think of my grandparents being happy, and truly in love with each other. My favorite part in the poem is whenever it talks about all the stars but there is one that shines brighter. That line reminds me of a story my grandma told about how my grandpa and her broke up for awhile in high school but he ended up going back to her because no there girl compared to her, and then he asked her to marry him.

This poem fits with the others because with all of the other poems they end with talking about them being together forever. This poem differs because instead of talking about their lover or asking if they can love them the author talks about how she feels about them and how they make her feel.

I choose this picture because this poem made me think about a marriage and this is a portrait of a bride and groom dancing.
