The man, the myth, but not the legend. Criminal James Gatz also known as Jay Gatsby has been put up by police and the city as wanted. Surprised that the police want Gatsby since he has made good friends with the captains and mayors of his parties. He did this so he could make his money which was bootlegging. Bootlegging is when a person sells alcohol to the public during a time when it's illegal to sell during then. Gatsby was a man of many wonders and no body who this man was." This is an unusual party for me. I haven't seen the host... and this man Gatsby sent an invitation"(Fitzgerald 47). This quote shows that nobody really saw Gatsby and only certain people saw him. The 1% actually met him. It was almost like he wanted his identity hidden because of something. That something was that he wasn't Jay Gatsby. Jay was a rich man who James just took place of after he kicked the bucket. Bootlegging was just a side job and was never gonna get caught be he had a error. A fatal error, his fatal error was driving in his "yellow" car with Daisy near George's garage. At this time, George and Mrtyle were having a fight and was starting to get phisical so Mrtyle decided to run out. Trying to stop Gatsby car on the road, Daisy wasn't paying attention and ran Mrtyle over while Gatsby in the passenger. Tom decides to say its Gatsby and it his car even though it wasn't him. The main thing to catching Gatsby was his yellow car. Nobody knows anyone but Gatsby with a yellow car. George was infuriated which caused him to shoot Gatsby while he was swimming in his own pool. Shorty after, George ended his life aswell and just like that, the man, the myth and the ghost were gone. The green light still shinned until his funeral when Daisy left with Tom and never came back.

This map represents where the characters live from the book. Once Nick moves adjacent to Gatsby, he is technically added to the West Egg but the eggs are for where people went to college. Gatsby "went" to Oxford while Tom went to Yale. George worked at a Garage in the Valley of Ashes with his love; Myrtle. They were all so spread out. George and Myrtle were more in the city while both of the eggs supplied these huge masions. One being Gatsby's and one being Tom's. The East Egg had more riches since Tom was full of money while the West Egg just had the riches of Gatsby. " Twenty miles from the city a pair of enormous eggs, identical in contour and separated only by a courtesy bay... I lived in the West Egg, the-well, the less fashionable of the two"(Fitzgerald 4-5).

Gastby and Nick were the two characters I chose for this because they probably had the best connection between all of the characters. They had the most dialogue throughout the book. Gatsby always called Nick "Old Sport" as some sort of nickname. This nickname made Nick almost like his sidekick. They did everything together and also lived right next to each other. Thoughout the book, they talk about this green light and this green light is Daisy. Nick never understood what this was, and it was right under his nose. When he invited Daisy over for tea, Gatsby was getting all nervous and scared of what she might think of him. " Is everything all right? The grass looks fine. What grass?"(Fitzgerald 84). Gatsby is very jumpy and nervous in this quote while Nick is acting normal and trying to calm him down.

As I was scrolling through Spotify, I wanted to find songs that were directing and representing Tom. I know these songs are great choices and I'll tell you why. When we look at Boy's a Liar by Ice Spice and PinkPantheress, Tom lied all of the time with George, and Daisy. He lied to both of them by cheating with George's wife and lying to Daisy about going into the city. This subject lets me introduce the next song which goes by the name of, Cheater. Written by The Vamps, cheater is not only a great song but represents Tom exactly. Cheated on Daisy to go to Myrtle from The Valley of Ashes. No Emotions by Ar!s represents one of his side traits. When talking to Daisy he has no emotions and if he does, its very slight and in anger. Super Rich Kids by Frank Ocean goes great with Tom in a way that he is one. Went to Yale which is immensely expensive and no lives in a Mansion on the East Egg with Daisy and butlers. Daisy brings us to our next song which is... Daisy, by Ashnikko. Daisy was Tom's love even though she was cheating on her but that's beside the point. They have been together ever since Gatsby left to go to the war. Now since Myrtle has died, Tom should be loyal to Daisy and should have learned his lesson. This brings me to the next song written by Doja Cat, Rules. He hasn't ever followed the rules ranging from being loyal to Daisy to telling George that Gatsby killed Myrtle, not telling George that he was cheating with his wife. Anyway, he proceeds to keep telling lies. Our last song that I have chosen for the playlist of Tom goes by the name of Dead to Me by Kali Uchis. This song is different from all of the songs that I have chosen so far. This song has a connection with Tom and Gastby. Tom always hated Gatsby since Daisy liked him before Tom swooped in with all of his money. He started to get jealous of Gatsby because of Daisy going to see him and talk with him that when Myrtle died, he was going to make Gatsby take the fall no matter what. It wasn't Gatsby who ran over Myrtle. The thing that gave it away was the yellow car. Everyone knew who had that car. He ran over to George, gave him the gun, and said," The God Damn coward! He didn't even stop his car"(Fitzgerald 47).

This bumper sticker would work great because the only people who have read the book know what this means. Gatsby loved Daisy and created a fantasy where every time the green light flashes across the bay, that meant Daisy was over there. " His heart beat faster and faster as Daisy's face came up to his own"(Fitzgerald 110). Once they broke that awkward barrier, they loved each other. Too bad Gatsby died, or Daisy would have gone with Gatsby.

The Great Gatsby is a great book about romance, investigations, and jaw-dropping moments. These genres describe every character and how they work. Now, every character is different but they have their similarities. Nick and Gatsby are more hideaway types of people. Even though Gatsby has these parties all of the time, he's like a ghost. Nobody sees him at his parties. Tom and George are hotheads and get mad easily. Mrtyle is very pick me. And finally, Daisy is the opposite of Mrtyle. Very nice and intelligent. All of the genres that I have chosen go in-depth with every main character. There's one main character that goes deeper, and that man is Gatsby.
