         <description><![CDATA[<p>In the process of working through existing systems, it is vital to maintain a clear and consistent message that prioritizes adult emotional literacy. By integrating <strong>CASEL’s Three Signature Practices</strong>, we ensure that this message remains at the forefront of our work. In our rural county, <strong>SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) was not widely accepted initially</strong>. However, as we have progressed, we have remained committed and consistent in our approach.</p><p>One key adaptation for sustainability is <strong>meeting people where they are</strong> by framing conversations in ways that resonate with their experiences. Using general terms such as, <em>"How are we showing up in spaces?"</em> has proven to be an accessible and effective entry point for discussions. This approach fosters engagement and allows for meaningful connections.</p><p>Sustaining this work requires <strong>both adaptability and a steadfast commitment</strong> to its foundational principles. As we continue forward, we will adapt by:</p><ol><li><p><strong>Expanding Language Accessibility</strong> – Tailoring our messaging to different audiences while ensuring the core principles remain intact.</p></li><li><p><strong>Strengthening Community Engagement</strong> – Creating spaces for dialogue where stakeholders feel ownership and investment in the process.</p></li><li><p><strong>Integrating SEL into Existing Structures</strong> – Embedding practices into current workflows and routines to ensure long-term viability.</p></li><li><p><strong>Providing Ongoing Support &amp; Development</strong> – Ensuring that educators and leaders receive continuous professional development and resources.</p></li></ol><p>By staying true to these principles while remaining flexible in our approach, we can <strong>sustain and deepen the impact</strong> of SEL in our rural community. Sustainability lies in our ability to adapt, stay committed, and create lasting cultural shifts supporting emotional literacy for adults and students by using open doors and baby steps.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I try to provide as many free evidence-based trainings that I can create/present with my discipline/experience (teacher, mental health, and ABA) to all partners within an hour or so drive. Zoom makes them easier but we always try for in-person. I try to get some type of reciprocal training from the hosting partner if appropriate.</p>]]></description>
