         <description><![CDATA[<div>7 patients presenting with AE in this study were promptly diagnosed with specific subsets of AE. Their prompt diagnosis and treatment led to largely successful recoveries. Interestingly, most patients with AE have complete loss of memory from the worst weeks of their time with the disease.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2015 the death of a world famous polar bear, Knut from the Berlin Zoo, was attributed to anti-NMDAR AE. This case suggests that this disease is not specific to only humans but occurs in other mammals. While encephalitis has been found to occur in animals and can be treated, <em>autoimmune</em> encephalitis is a relatively new finding that constitutes alternative treatments.</div>]]></description>
