The morning grant was shot no one knew who did it no one was confessing so there was an on going investigation. The police were trying to find out who did it while gains pushed the case to someone else because he was protecting him self and the river point boys. The boys were acting normal as if nothing had happen most of the time, someone dressed up as dead grant they lost it, john payed that person to do it they never found out, shep was thrown under the bus they didn't care, the other three river point boys threw shep under the bus because john convinced them too john also lied to Lindsey about hearing the killers name.
