It was founded in 1966 at Washington D.C and one of the leaders was Betty Friedan. She was born in 1921 and died in 2006. Women would get discriminated and just be called weak because they are women but they created the N.O.W to show that they are not weak, and to get the same rights as men. The rights women wanted was to be able to have outside activities because women couldn’t do anything other than take care of the kids. Also they wanted to be able to vote for a president like men could. Another thing is that they want to have jobs as well. Even the government didn’t take the women seriously because in the 1960s the women couldn’t give ideas of what they thought just like if they were items and not people. Even today women still get discriminated, and not get the same rights as men, because people still thinks that women are not equal to men.

https://www.thinglink.com/scene/905495679260950531
