Isolation

Brian feels alone in the Canadian wilderness; both physical an mental. His only surroundings were a forest with nobody else around. The forest was completely different from where Brian grew up, so Brian wasn't used to the wilderness; he was used to buildings surrounding his home since he grew up in New York. Brian had no people walking on the streets of New York, all he could see and hear was the forest and the sounds of it.

Uncomfortablity

Brian's uncomfortablity in Hatchet shows when Brian quickly becomes uncomfortable holding the rifle he had found in the plane and didn't use it; though it would benefit his hunting.

The rifle removes all the need for all the knowledge and a sense of harmony he had gained while being stuck in the wilderness.

Pain

Brian's pain in Hatchet was mostly because of the "Secret" he knew. The "Secret" that his mother was having an affair with another pain; and the fact Brian knew that and had to keep it to himself deeply affected Brian and his sense of stability, and his sense of self.

Brian's duration in Hatchet was surviving in the Canadian wilderness for 57 days. Brian had kept track of this by making markings on the wall, for 57 days straight. This also included "First Days", like "First Arrow Day", or "First Meat Day".

Fear

Brian faced fear by facing a tornado which destroyed his base and he had the fear and stress of starting over again. He also got attacked by a moose, saw a bear, attacked by a porchupine and having the fear of not being able to find food.
