He initially gained experience in the area of real estate development for student housing as a development associate at PolarBek in Birmingham. Between 1990 and 2019, John Vawter drove processes on nearly 40 off-campus communities, as well as six on campus projects and a number of under-construction or in-development communities throughout the United States. As principal at Capstone Collegiate Communities, his responsibilities encompass all aspects of community development, from site selection to the completion of construction. Mr. Vawter studied business in Alexander City. Beyond his business activities, he enjoys spending time with his family and engaging as an active member of the local community.
