Our expository essay requires us to discuss how struggles make us stronger. We will choose the example for paragraph 2 together as a class, then each of them can write a sentence supporting the example while staying on topic. The second strategy I will implement is writing a paragraph as a group. Having the students begin the paragraph by answering a question/sentence stem, then finding partners to finish out the paragraph by adding their own sentences.

Ms. Clady has a great phrase write with three not just me I would love to use. I like this interaction because it gives the students a strong self confidence by learning from peers. With the new STAAR they will have to write a paragraph and this is a great assessment to teach over and over.

I would definitely use the roving paragraph in my ESL class lessons.I think this would take away the intimidation of large amounts of writing, would help students practice collaboration, and give students confidence in their writing abilities. It also gives them an example for how paragraphs can be written in future assignments and provide examples for idea brainstorming. This also helps to show students tiered vocabulary since their will be a mix of levels in an ESL classroom.

One strategy that I would like to use is connecting their background knowledge with the content we will learn in World History. We learn about different parts of the world, many civilizations and time periods. EL students have knowledge about their native countries, their regions, their neighboring countries. They would be able to provide their experiences and cultural facts with their classmates. Then, the content knowledge would be relevant to the students if they had friends sharing their prior knowledge with the class.

I teach Spanish and when I introduce vocabulary, they will create a bingo (loteria) card. When I need to introduce verb conjugation I ask students to create a foldable of ar, er, ir verbs it's nice and organize so they can reference from when creating sentences. 
When students are learning to write sentences, I use a foldable to help them structure a basic sentence in spanish. Fold it half way cut it in three pieces only one side and border it with a different color to differententiate the pronoun, the verb, and the adjective.
