A teaching pastor for its adult services as well, he assists with sermon planning and teaches on select weekends. Additionally, Chris Hilken assists in staff-development activities as a leadership director for Next Level, which trains and fosters growth for the megachurch’s next generation of campus pastors and leaders. In 2019, his responsibilities at North Coast Church expanded to include young adults pastor with its Jordan Young Adults Ministry for 18- to 25-year-old parishioners. Mr. Hilken led progress in the group in areas such as volunteerism and group participation, as well as boosted attendance to 400 members weekly in 2020. A theological studies graduate of Concordia University Irvine, Mr. Hilken also studied biblical languages and participated in the pre-seminary program. For his last three years there, he served as a Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) director and planned and facilitated a range of campus events and programs.
