What I find appealing about social media is the fact that you can interact with people from all corners of the world without the actual need to travel thousands of miles, I also like the fact that social media can open your mind up to other people and their various cultures. Despite social media only being in it's infancy, I have already experienced the positives that social media has on people culturally, such as the emergence of the asian rap industry, which hadn’t existed/been as popular as it is today, without the help of social media bringing something that was traditionally and culturally important to the United States, and bringing it to a more traditionally quiet region of the world, the far east.]]> 2018-07-03 00:50:02 UTC https://padlet.com/asyrafadanan/ma55communication/wish/269206807 asyrafadanan https://padlet.com/asyrafadanan/ma55communication/wish/269208009 I consume film as a media due to entertainment purposes, what I enjoy about film is the fact that there is enough variety, in terms of genres, that there’s films which any one person can enjoy. I like the fact that you can watch an action film for the sheer spectacle of such well choreographed fight scenes, or with thriller films how engrossed you can get from scenes that almost overflow with suspense.

From my experiences, film has had a large impact on my life, I remember as a child, watching the Spider-Man movies and remember how badly I wanted to be a super hero, but as I grew older I realized the importance that film truly has on people. I feel like a majority of the movies I watched in my lifetime shaped the person I am today, and even recently, with Marvel’s Black Panther, I can see the importance of such a film for it's representation and diversification and how it promotes and celebrates African culture, which is why I can see it being so influential toward the younger generation, especially to black kids, who in their lifetime, haven't seen a super hero movie, where the main character/superhero is represented as a black man.]]> 2018-07-03 01:06:39 UTC https://padlet.com/asyrafadanan/ma55communication/wish/269208009
