There are arched galleries, water cisterns, warehouses and other building remains in the oval shaped castle surrounded by dry ditch, built on a 185 m high hill, dominated by Silifke. In the famous traveler Evliya Çelebi Travel book, XVII. It is said that Silifke Fortress has 23 mosques, a mosque and 60 houses. These unfamiliar aspects of our cities, our towns, amazes me and makes me sad. What a pity it is that even the citizens of this country do not even know that this is a magnificent ancient city. However, this wealth is worth the tourism value of all the local people.
