Work with university, community college, and high school leaders to determine a regional west valley goal for degree/certificate attainment. For example, increase the college-going rate of HS seniors by 5% over the next 5 years.

This can include organizations like Helios and Education Forward AZ as they are strong partners for regional and statewide attainment efforts.

This would align with pillars 1,2,3, and possibly 5

How do we get the legislature to provide more funding for education. Make education a priority. Elevating the Educator profession and how do we educate the public on how they can help support our educators and the challenges our system faces.

Although I like our meetings as they highlight achievements and needs, I think I would like to see our meetings become workgroups too. I think it would be good to have 2-3 initiatives highlighted each half year/year where the committee creates sub committees to develop a strategic plan to drive change and bring action. These initiatives can be taken from the pillars and broken down into priorities that we can work on.
