From playing videogames to playing sports, I can't deny that games have impacted my life a ton. Being able to bond with others and learn new skills, it has helped my teamwork and coordination. This has also helped me cope through the pandemic, as I still got to interact with new friends through videogames like Valorant or Roblox.

I have always liked this quote from Chadwick due to its deeper meaning. As it reminds me that every challenge you get thrown is just something that's in your way, being able to face or deny the challenge answers what kind of person you are. Over the years, it has been my life moto and has motivated me to keep pushing.

Getting my drivers license

I have always dreamt of driving my own car and getting a license to do so. Now that I am of legal age, I was able to successfully get one. Although I am still learning how to drive, it is a achievement I'm proud to share.

Last level of Kumon!

I have been doing Kumon for years now, and I am on my final level in Kumon Mathematics. This is a big deal as Kumon has a been a staple in my life, there are times where I was thinking of giving up, yet I kept pushing. One more to go and it's finally done!

Getting honors for the first time

Before Ateneo I used to go to Brainworks, due to it being a progressive school and having a entirely unique learning system, they didn't give out any honors. So throughout my high school years, I have always dreamt of getting honors one day. After transferring to AdDU for grade 11, I tried my best in order to achieve honors, in which I happily did and got 3rd honors in both 1st and 2nd semester.

Infancy

At age 0 to 1, my infancy represents my blurry yet real existence. Although I couldn't remember anything I did, my parents told me that my grandparents in Manila mostly took care of me. While they were mostly gone and busy at work.

Toddler Years/Early Childhood

While I don't remember anything from my childhood, around 2 to 3 years old, I was also learning to walk and talk. By this point, my brother had already been born, and we moved to Davao.

Preschool Years

At this point, from 4 to 5 years old, I already knew how to eat, had tried walking on my own, and was also fond of drawing. During this time, a core moment my parents told me was that one of our caretakers back then accidentally dropped me off the table, to which I hit my head on the ground and bled. Although it was a very surprising moment I can't remember, it was a reason why I have a scar in the middle of my forehead.

Elementary School Years/School Age

At this point in my life, from 6 to 11 years old, the first time I ever came to school, I was horrified, as back then I couldn't accept the fact that my parents were leaving me alone. Yet, I still gained highlights and achievements during these times. As I have learned karate and tried running at summer schools. At this point, I can also remember fun events such as costume parties and Christmas, all of which made my childhood.

Adolescence

During this time, I have learned and accomplished so many things, such as entering high school and even surviving the pandemic. There were so many memories I've made, but amongst them all, the main highlights would be having a strong, close friend group, aspiring to be someone creative, and achieving honors at Ateneo. Additionally, throughout this stage, I've been trying to find my purpose and who I really am. I'd say during my early stages, I was more insecure and had a lot of doubt, as I always wondered why out of my younger brother and me, he always gets to be the "better one" or the one that our friends prefer to hang out with. At that point, I really couldn't accept why, and I kept asking if I could ever be treated differently. Although with peers I'd say my brother got better treatment, I wouldn't say I had a negative upbringing, as my parents and God always helped me cope with all the hardships I shared with them. So, in later years, around 16 to 17, I've tried so hard to be someone I'm not just to feel accepted, yet I've come so burnt out from doing so. So over time, I gave up being someone I truly was not, and tried to appreciate my features and flaws, my mentality and my stupidity, all this with the guidance of my parents and God. By so, I have slowly but surely come to accept most parts of me.

The subject Personal Development was helpful to me, as I was able to better understand myself. Especially about my personality type, coping mechanisms, various types of relationships, and how great my family is.

2. What were your key takeaways from the subject?

My key takeaway from this subject will be that it is more about self-discovery and recognizing the various emotions and impacts that can affect a person. As well as learning how to not only improve yourself but also learn more about your surroundings and others.

3. What two topics were your favorites and why?

My two favorite topics will be self-knowledge, as it helps me learn more about my personality type and how I approach life's situations. Secondly, it will be about emotional intelligence, because I will realize how I interact with others and discover more about myself. Overall, these two had the greatest impact on me, as I love to improve and learn more about myself.
