This is a painting representing my understanding in regards to the role of plants in society and environment. I chose this painting because it shows how plants are anchored to wherever it is they grow and regardless of the environment around them or objects that we humans have created, plants still thrive. They are a symbol of life but yet they also recycle it. Plants will always be around even if we aren't and their role is a big one even if no-one notices.

This is a video giving a broad overview of how the process of photosynthesis takes place. I chose this video specifically because it is simple and easy to understand in my opinion. The creator of this video did not include any extra miscellaneous information only that which was necessary and to the point on the process of photosynthesis. The video does a good job of explaining how one reaction leads to another and then explains how or why the reaction takes place.

This is a link to a website that contains multiple information about plants native to Georgia. Not only does this website give information to certain plants found in Georgia but it also tells about the conservation in Georgia and how to get involved and become a member. It's a great site to begin with when wanting to learn more about plants that are native to Georgia.

This is a picture of the biome known as tropical rainforest. I believe this biome is in the most danger due to ecological change. The reason I believe this is because tropical rainforest make up for only 6% of the Earths land surface but they are getting smaller everyday. This is due to deforestation, changes in climate, and contamination of the air due to carbon dioxide and other harmful gases. Tropical rainforest are delicate and are the most in danger from these changes. While the rainforest only account for a small percentage of land surface, they provide for half of all living things on Earth therefore this biome should be well preserved so it can continue to be around for as long as possible.

The Neolithic Revolution is regarded as perhaps one of the most important events to take place in human history. It had various impacts and we would not be where we are today had it not occurred. One of the impacts that it had was that it started a global increase in human population. Permanent settlements could now be established allowing people to stay in one place and allowed for families to grow causing and increase in population. Of course however, with this also brings consequences. Crowding eventually becomes an issue and with that increases the susceptibility of diseases spreading and other new problems.

The Third Agricultural Revolution, also known as the Green Revolution. Was A revolution that introduced pesticides and other farm chemicals that would help produce a larger yield and an overall better product. This revolution was particularly big in countries that well a little less developed and helped alive some problems with hunger in these countries. This site that I choose is one that explains the impacts of this revolution and why it was so important.

I believe that the most influential chemical derived from plants, currently, is Paclitaxel. This compound comes from the bark of the Pacific Yew tree and the Periwinkle plant (Catharanthus Roseus). I believe this to be the most influential because it is used in chemotherapy to help cure lung cancer, breast cancer, Prostate cancer, melanoma and many other forms of cancer. It has wide uses and without it people with these diseases could not been treated and would perhaps not be alive today without it.

I choose the picture below to best represent in my opinion what the future will look like if present day agricultural, economic, social, and political practices go unchecked. The picture depicts destroyed buildings, collapsed bridges and what appears to be very polluted air and no vegetation in sight. I believe this is what are future would like like if all those factors were considered but the biggest factor in my opinion would be through political practices. Earth would become an inhabitable place with no vegetation. This is why we shouldn't allow these factors to go unchecked because it could greatly impact our future.
