This day I learned to be more aware of people and things around me that I could be grateful for. Our brains focus on the negative things, but there’s a lot of things going right in a day and we should pay more attention to these things.

Today the course was about gratitude. I learned that it's important to look people in the face who do things for you, to smell and taste products and to realize and wonder how many t people contributed in producing the things that you take for granted. Thank people (or the American way: fake it) until you feel it and use gratitude as a spark to action. So I looked our waitress in the eyes for 5 seconds and thanked her every time for serving our food and drinks.

Today was about being grateful. We discused how to be grateful to make you feel happy and influence your life. Not only your thoughts can change your behaviour but also your behaviour can change your thoughts. For example to express your gratitude to others. We played a game were we had to practice to express your gratitude. Something to think about and could be a nice activity to do in class.

Today, we had a wonderful lesson on gratitude. In addition to the TED talk, we received recommendations for literature and played a color game that led to valuable conversations with each other. I had the opportunity to experience the power of nature in Guadeloupe through the deafening thunderstorm. 🙏😅 🙉⛈️

Today all was about gratefulness.

Lots of the steps and points we discussed I already knew - but am not aware of.

Thats what I'm not planning on...looking up, smelling, tasting, telling people "thank you for..." more conscious.

And all that is about CONNECTION. Every time we are grateful und say to people, what we are grateful for, we are connected to them. And connection is one of the 3 important points for the resilience.

Above all, this last point was my greatest learning today.

Today’s session was about gratefulness. In everyday life, I usually encounter this consciously in two situations - firstly, when I say thank you to people directly, and secondly, when I pray. There, I usually use a kind of "rule of three" - thank you, sorry, please. Especially in the evening, this helps me to review the day and reflect on what was good about the day (however unpleasant it may have been). What I have learned today though, is that you should also directly name what you are grateful for when you say thank you, and that it can be very helpful to not only practice gratitude in retrospect, but to discover and hold on to the details in the moment.

What I also learned is that negative aspects (e.g. harming others) that initially make you feel guilty or sad can be turned into positive thoughts and feelings through gratitude. Last but not least, I learned what Christophines are, how you prepare them and how they taste when being used in a salad - and I am very grateful for our delicious dinner! :-)

Today, the focus was on gratitude, which I really liked. I had already read and thought about the topic before but it was a nice refresher and I really want to read the book 'Thanks a thousand' now. I learned that thunderstorms in the Carribean can be pretty bad (and loud).

I really enjoyed the day and I had the impression that the group has become more closely connected thanks to the stories that we shared in between :)
