REFLECTION ON INDUCTION WEEK 1&2

Hello friends!
I am delighted to share my initial journey as a student of Coventry university. Let me begin by the experience of the induction classes held online on 17th and 24th of may.
Like many of my fellow friends enrolled to the GHM course , I was a little bit tensed and anxious during the first session. The initial technical errors added on to my anxiety! But as it turned out ,my initial uneasiness went away after the warm welcome message and introduction given by the course director Mr. Rob Wilson. There were also the presence of my educators for various modules including Dr. Isaac Obeng, Dr. Nitish Gaur and Ms. OgechI Ohademere. It was really a first time experience for me to attend such an interactive session along with tutors from a global background. I was also far more excited to know that my peers are also from various nations. The activities during the induction was really interesting. The allocation of break out rooms was indeed a great idea for small groups to introduce ourselves and and to get to familiarize with each other. The game of "one lie and 2 truths" made this interaction a fun experience. The UK -quiz held later in the session was not only informative but also entertaining.
Week 2 of induction was held on 24th may hosted by Ms.Ogechi Ohadamere. This session was more interactive than the previous one as we got the opportunity to identify and discuss about leadership qualities in the break out rooms. This helped me greatly to think of the qualities I have and what to develop as an emergent leader .Each of us were introduced to the "padlet tool" and representing each group one of us posted our thoughts on the padlet wall. The session concluded by the host addressing our queries on course works and learning which were really helpful mitigating many of my doubts regarding the academics.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS I IDENTIFIED

Now let me talk about the 3 skills I find important for a leader. These are CRITICAL THINKING, TEAMWORK and FLEXIBILITY.
To begin with, a creative leader who can critically think during various circumstances and evaluating and analyzing its effects are of utmost importance for its success. It enables the leader to draw on conclusions in the basis of both the positive and negative impacts of an incident or policy so that it becomes a useful tool in future interventions.
The second quality I identified is teamwork. A good leader should be in constant interaction with his team so that strategies are discussed and opinions of team members are considered which in turn ensures efficient policies risen out of different perspectives.
Lastly I think every leader should posses flexibility to adapt to every situations that he/she may face. This quality is essential to take accurate decisions even at the time of crisis and pressure.
