The geography affected the development of Greek civilization in a few ways. Since Greece was an peninsula and was surrounded by seas, trading, fishing, and traveling was a lot easier and could get rich easily. This also but ship building in demand so the could get even more money. Greece also had many mountains separating areas creating polis or city-states. This also made unifying the area with one ruler hard. Greece may have mostly used the seas as a source of food, but they also farmed. The main crops the farmed was barley, grapes and olives.

Geography affected the development of the Greek civilization by having a peninsula and it is surrounded buy water on three sides. In Greek there were mountains and they were not fertile at all to farm crops like in Mesopotamia. According to my knowledge of Social Studies there was a climate there that allowed them to farm but the mountains did not have fertile soil. The Greece felt deeply connected to there land like every other civilization.

One way geography affected the development of the Greek civilization is that many of it geographic features such as mountains and seas divided Greek into small groups that became city-states. This is one geography effected the development of Greek. Another way the geography affected the way Greek is that their rivers made it able for them to trade, fish and farm. This is another way geography affected Greek development. These are two of the main reasons I think geography affected Greek civilization.
