-Create a Guidance document that outlines how our program is run and how we support students
-Monitor new legislation or mandates from the government (added to constantly) to make sure we are in compliance
- Help EL teachers manage their caseloads and instructional plans
- Help ELs create a schedule for services, around the master schedule of the school and the English Proficiency Levels of the students
- Review Home Language surveys from each new registered student to determine eligibility or screening for the program
- Meet monthly with the EL teachers for updates and monitor data of EL students
- Manage a data dashboard for the EL program that has all of the information on our ELs and whose caseload they are on
- Attend meetings, when needed to advocate for EL students with their teacher.
- Determine Professional Development needs and plan opportunities to meet those needs
- Order materials needed for EL program
- Organize and manage the annual WIDA ACCESS 2.0 assessment- taking care of all secure documents
- Be available to support the EL teachers at all times.

There are 3 mandatory (from the government) questions on the form (have to be verbatim) about the native language. If any of those three questions have an answer other than “English” then the child must be screened for EL services. Screening means, we check to see if that child has come from a school or state that gives the WIDA ACCESS assessment and get the scores from their latest testing session. If they do not come from a WIDA Consortium state or if they did not get tested prior tom coming to our schools, we complete a WIDA screener to determine if they are eligible for the program or if they test out. That would be if they got a score higher than 4.4 on the screener.
e. When found eligible they are added to the EL teacher’s caseload and begin services. They are in the EL program until they receive a composite score of 4.4 or higher on the annual WIDA ACCESS 2.0 assessment.

The EL teacher checks in quarterly to see how they are doing academically. If they are doing well they just wait and touch base again in the next quarter. If they are struggling, the EL teacher can meet with the teacher and help support the student. If
the child is really struggling, they can be put back into the program for more intense support.

We have 3 certified EL teachers and 2 EL Instructors. The EL instructors work under the guidance of the certified EL teacher.
c. We have placed the teachers where we have the greatest needs. We have two teachers at one school due to the larger number of EL students.

We usually take the load on ourselves and the teachers are excellent at building relationships with the students and parents.
