Unlike the version written by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Little Red Riding Hood is not warned about the woods. No one tells her to be careful, not to talk to stranger or to stay on the right "path". In the story the woods is portrayed as this happy and calm place due to the fact that she is distracted by "gathering nuts, running after butterflies, and gathering bouquets of little flowers"(Perrault). She is naive to the dangers of the world and pictures the woods to be a safe, sort of bubbly place. Even if the wolf could not eat her in the moment because of the woodcutters she still could not analyze his intentions by the way he acted around her.

When she deviates from it she exposes herself to the dangers and makes herself vulnerable to the wolf. The path could symbolize her innocence and how she strays away from it because she ignorant ( not her fault) and falls into the wolf's trap. It also can represent her own conscious of picking the correct choice or picking the wrong one. In the movie she chooses to go in the car with a stranger because she ran away. The woods are a place that is in most instances unknown and undiscovered.
