In the story "The Christmas Carol" Ebenezer Scrooge can be described as a very grumpy, miserable, Christmas hating guy. He is visited by the three ghosts of past, present, and future, as it states here "You will be haunted by three spirits." He is visited by them to be shown the real meaning of Christmas, because for example when people asked for donations he said no and that he doesn't care about what happens to other people. And he says Bah-Humbug a lot when somebody says anything to him about Christmas. I think that Scrooge just needs to realize the true meaning of Christmas. In conclusion His life is pretty bad, and he has a horrible personality.

The well known man by the name of Scrooge is one not to love Christmas! Scrooge is known to be far from a joyful person. In the story, "The Christmas Carol," it describes him as a " a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!" This shows that Scrooge is known to be a humble, generous person. You can see that Scrooge, isn't much of a exciting person to be around. The text also mentions a scene where Scrooge does not want to experience Christmas with friends and family, or possibly not at all! This science helps you realize that even the most joyous parts of life means nothing to them. Scrooge doesn't want to contribute with anything that is out of the ordinary. As you can see, the main character, Scrooge, isn't very fond of things that make most people happy!

In this part of the story we know that Scrooge was dismal. He shows this when he says no to his nephew's invitation to Christmas. He also rarely lets anyone leave early or get the day off. It shows this when a worker asks if he can get Christmas off he supposes, but he makes him come in earlier the next morning. This shows he does not like when his workers leave early. In conclusion Scrooge was very mean and spiteful and hated when people interrupted his work schedule.

Scrooge lives his life by himself and stingy. In the story two men went to Scrooge's work place and ask him can he give money to charity, but Scrooge asks a bunch of questions about other places and then said no. Another, one is that he hates Christmas really much. One day his nephew came over and asked him to come to there Christmas dinner and all Scrooge said was "Bah Humbug!" He also told a caroler to get of his door, because he was singing. This is how Scrooge lives and his personality.

This is because his partner, Jacob Marley, died during this time seven years ago. In the text when it talks about the ghost of Marley coming and talking to Scrooge is when Marley says that everything I'm the chain is what he avoided in life. This is when he tells Scrooge that he must listen to the three spirits or else he will go though the same thing.

In a Christmas Carol Scrooge has a very obvious personality. He is always angry, grumpy, and lonely. Scrooge is someone you don't want to be around. For example in the story near the beginning the narrator describes old Scrooge. And I quote,"wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!"I think the author is trying to say that he is very selfish. Also this is direct characterization because it tells use his character traits. Scrooge is very Covetous. Another detail that the author included to describe Scrooge is that nothing could warm him, nor wintry weather chill him no wind that ever blew was as bitter as he. The sentence no wind that ever blew was as bitter as he, I think the author is trying to say that he has the most bitter and frozen, stone cold heart ever. I infer that Scrooge will have a change of heart closer to the end of the story. In conclusion Scrooge's personality is like a rotten egg. Old, smelly, and ties your stomach in a knot.

In the first stave of the book, The Christmas Carol, Scrooge has a very abrasive personality. Abrasive means showing little concern for the feelings of others; harsh. In the text, Scrooge meets two men who are asking for donations to help the poor. Scrooge, instead of giving money, tells the men that he could care less about the poor. Many people cannot afford to donate money to the poor, but Scrooge is not one of them. He is a rich accountant, and yet he still tells the men he will not donate money.

There are other reasons why you could call Scrooge abrasive. Another one of those reasons is that, the text states, "Merry Christmas! What right have you to be merry. What reason have you to be merry? You're poor enough." This shows he is harsh because he is telling his nephew that he is too poor and shouldn't be so merry. However, Christmas is a time for joy, and even if you are poor, you can feel the Christmas spirit and you can become joyous. All of these reasons demonstrate why Scrooge is abrasive, harsh, and unhappy.

There are many different personalities there is nice, mean, and grumpy. So what is the personality of Scrooge. I know he is greedy because in the story it say "Many thousands are in want of common necessaries; hundred of thousands are in want of common comforts, sir."And these people are asking for money and Scrooge says no. In my opinion that is greedy because he could give out money which could decrease the number of the poor and homeless. If I was in any situation like I would give them money. So does Scrooge just have one personality no his other one is he does not have a holiday spirit. I know this because his nephew invited to dinner and he said no because of his wife then his nephew said you never came before that. I think that is rude because you should go spend time with your family no matter what. One other reason is you can't not go to see your family cause of there wife or husband or boyfriend or girlfriend. So that is the personality of the Scrooge.

In the story, "A Christmas Carol", Scrooge has many personalities. For instance, when his nephew came to his work shop to ask him if he wanted to come to his Christmas dinner, he turned down the offer, because he thought he married a crazy woman, then said bah-humbug! In my opinion, anyone who is that sour probably does need someone to show that they care for them, and maybe that will bring the meanness out of them. Many people these days are always holding grudges of people and that isn't good because people are sapost to get along, not be tardy to each other.

Another personality of Scrooge is that he always gets really mad when people ask for something when they really need it and Scrooge refuses to give them what they need because he is a very stingy man. For example, when then some people came around to ask for donations for the homeless, Scrooge told them to put them in jail or something of that nature. In my eyes, this shows Scrooge was a very hateful man. Many people like Scrooge never get any love because they push it away, even when they need it the most. In conclusion, throughout the story, " A Christmas Carol", there is many, many examples that show Scrooge's changing personalities.

In the opening stave of the "Christmas Carol" it shows many different ways that describes the life and personally of Scrooge. In the story it quotes that the external heat and cold have little influence on him. I know that this describes Scrooge because the heat and cold have a lot of influence on me. Another way that I know this describes his life is because he does not have to pay a lot of money for a fan in the heat or a heater in the cold. In the opening stave the narrator says that the Scrooge was a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone. I know this because this quote means that Scrooge works all the time and does not share his money with anyone else. I also know that this describes his life because it means that he is selfish. As a result these are two ways that the opening stage describes Scrooges life and personally.

In the story "A Christmas Carol" Scrooge personality is gloomy and grumpy because he doesn't want to help the poor and he doesn't want to get in the Christmas.Scrooge's nephew wants him to come to Christmas dinner, but Scrooge doesn't want to because of his nephews wife. I think it just because he is gloomy and hates Christmas, so he doesn't want to go. This also shows he is gloomy because he doesn't even care that his nephew loves the woman he married. Scrooge is also grumpy because he doesn't care about others. When the businessman came in and was talking about the poor people Scrooge just told him to let them go to jail. He also didn't care that the businessman wanted to have the next day off and made him come to work. In conclusion Scrooge's personality is gloomy and grumpy because he doesn't care about others and hates Christmas.

In a well known story,"A Christmas Carol," Scrooge's appearance was undoubtedly dismal. For instance Scrooge rejects his nephew after an invite to a Christmas dinner, and the only reason Scrooge didn't want to go was because he disliked the nephew's wife. Scrooge also turned down donations for the less fortunate. Just to add to that he was very grouchy about letting his clerk off for Christmas, which made me furious! Words in the text that described Scrooge were as followed,"Squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!" This shows that Scrooge had no heart, no love for anybody, and no care for anything! But surprisingly, toward the end of the story he starts to gain more love, more care, and a heart for Christmas.

We know from the stave that Scrooge is lonely and gloomy, but how do we know this from the text.
In the text, Scrooge's nephew comes to Scrooge's workplace and says," A merry Christmas , Uncle! God save you." And asks Scrooge to come to Christmas dinner, Scrooge replies with," Bah Humbug!" And nothing else. This can tell us that Scrooge isn't a cheerful and happy person, and Christmas isn't his favorite thing, it tells us he would rather be alone and work in his workplace, and being lonely has made him a sad person.
Whenever Scrooge goes to town, it is known that all the people move out the way to make a path for him, even the guide dogs move to an open alley and out of the way when Scrooge walks down the street. Everyone must think he is a mean and scary person. I can't really blame them for moving out the way, if I was in the story I would be scared of him and move out the way.
When Scrooge goes to his house, we learn he lives alone in the home. We know this because the text says that he goes home to eat his melancholy dinner in his melancholy tavern. This means he eats his sad dinner alone which is sad. He is alone everyday except at his workplace.
As we read the text, we learned that Scrooge was a sad, lonely, person. We used the text to know this information. His personality may change later in the story.

Throughout The Christmas Carol, Scrooge, the main character, could be described as gloomy, dismal, selfish, and negative because of his actions. The passage gives many indirect and direct clues to back up the description of him being negative. For example, a gentleman over the poor questions if Scrooge would offer a donation to the hopeless for Christmas, but Scrooge, not being a fan of helping others, replies a harsh 'no'. This action in stave one shows that he does not care a button about anyone, but himself. I infer that Scrooge is selfish because it relates to his description during the beginning of the passage. In reality, when someone replies 'no' to helping or sharing, others label them as selfish. Another detail from The Christmas Carol, is said by his nephew. "What right have you to be dismal? What reason have you to be morose? You're rich enough," states that Scrooge has no right or reason to act depressed, dreary, ill-tempered, or sullen because he has much money. Also, what the nephew means is, not only does he have money, but he has family who care for him, and want him to see the Christmas spirit, but he acts incredulous and fights against the fact that he has love. In closing, It is shown through many actions that Scrooge is an overall negative human being.

In the opening stave of A Christmas Carol Scrooge is shown as being grumpy, whether it plainly states it or he shows it. The story describes Scrooge as, "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!" The story saying he is a sinner shows that he is rude. These negative words put a negative thought about Scrooge in the readers head. Also in the story, he doesn't want to give to the poor. This shows that he is cold hearted and doesn't care about anyone, but himself and his money. Scrooge has more than enough money to give some to the poor and this shows he is cold hearted. In conclusion, Scrooge is shown as a grumpy, old man in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickerson.
