1. Paste the line that stands out to you the most and write a response to the line.

2. Based on what we've read so far, what are you wondering about Jeannette's parents and or the Walls family as a whole?

"Don't be so sentimental," Mom said. She told me we could always get another cat..."

I think it's messed up how she said they can always get another cat. It's like replacing a person. Just because it's an animal, that doesn't make it any less alive, or worth protecting. Animals rely on their owners for everything. All living things deserve the same love and respect, nothing should change that. As I am an owner of many animals, cruelty to animals really upsets me, because it's not right. Animals have so much love to give, some people just don't deserve them. I truly believe animals are blessings, and many people overlook that.

"An hour passed before we finally tied Mom's paintings on the top of the car, shoved whatever would fit into the trunk, and piled the overflow on the backseat and the car floor."
Im wondering how insane the dad is because he made them pack of the "important" stuff but he took the moms paintings but threw the cat out. The moms paintings are not important. But, the cat would be used as emotional support.

"He stopped the car, grabbed Quixote by the scruff of the neck, and tossed him out the window. Quixote landed with a screeching meow and a thud, Dad accelerated up the road, and I burst into tears. "

This stood out to me the most because why would you even do that to a poor cat that you had for a while and then proceed to drive without turning back and also the mom stated in the next line that "we could always get another cat," so what i'm not getting is what was the point of getting rid of quixote and then would get another cat after when you already had a chance of keeping the cat you already had?

"I think we're going to," she said."

This quote stood out to me because Jeannette feels lucky to be able to live like this. Many people would feel bad for Jeannette or think that she is in an unfortunate situation, but she seems to like the adventure and not mind that her family doesn't have much money or a permanent home.

"After a while, I forgot about Quixote and Tinkerbell and the friends I'd left behind in the trailer park."

I thought it was a bit strange she just forgot about those things. Because they meant a lot to her, and yet she didn't seem to linger on those for too long. She burst into tears after Quixote was thrown so its true the cat was important to her. Her family seem a bit stern on like following their own ideals. After Jeanette's mom told her to not be too sentimental, it felt like she just followed.

How do you go from living in a trailer park and only packed "things they need to survive" and expect to leave out of there rich and have a good life. The dad said "Wherever we end up" when Jeanette asked where are they going and that sounds very suspicious if you ask me.
