Overall, what I have learned from this research of the human rights especially article two which everyone has been granted is that despite human rights being granted to all groups of people their are still many issues. For example racism still exists within the community and within people with a higher authority of power. This is a big problem in todays time and still needs to be resolved.

Wiesel's Night memoir

In the story "Night" by Ellie Wiesel it states that "Germans arrested the leaders of the Jewish community. From that moment on, everything happened very quickly. The race toward death had begun. First edict: Jews were prohibited from leaving their residences for three days, under penalty of death." (page 10) This quotation of the text shows how in this story there were multiple human rights violated during most of the events that occurred. Many of the human rights were violated including in article two since the Nazis enforced and limited the Jews freedom by prohibiting the time that they were allowed to leave their house. They also threatened their right to live by telling the Jews that if they went against the Nazis wishes their penalty would be death. Nazis enforced all this simply because of them being Jews and discriminated against them.

In the article "Report to Congress Pursuant to Section 5 of the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act of 2018" there was a statement saying that " ISIS was responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control in Iraq and Syria, including Yezidis, Christians, and Shia Muslims. He found that ISIS was also responsible for crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing against these same groups and in some cases Sunni Muslims, Kurds, and other minorities." In this part of the article it states that ISIS was responsible for violating many human rights. ISIS targets certain groups of people and discriminates against them. This violates the right to freedom and the right to live since ISIS has been responsible for genocides against minorities.

Modern Day Human Rights Violations

This article here shows how recently certain human rights have been violated. Some of the situations stated in this article include how during 2020 one of Minneapolis Police officers kneeled on the neck of a man named George Floyd which limited his breathing and for more than eight minutes which caused him to die. This video of this act happening causing groups of people to demand that officers take responsibility for past and present harms that have been caused to the black community. The police in the US have targeted the black people with the injustice that they receive from the police with police brutality mainly targeting that group of people.
