Danny doesn't want to spend time with Elijah and Elijah doesn't want to spend time with Danny either. There mother made Danny and Elijah go on a trip together just so they can get along with each other. On the trip Elijah finds a girl and they dated while they were on the trip. Danny see's one of his friends from  camp when there in rome. In the end of the book Danny and Elijah got to know each other more than what they thought each other was like. They got along just fine after their trip to italy, and rome.
