I haven’t understood the poem. It causes me confusion because the poem talks about a lot of things and I don’t see the relation between them. It explains like everything and anything. First, it talks about the city and how her elements follow a succession. Then, it seems that it compares this succession with the life, that it’s a succession of events. And after that, it looks like a partner is hanging out in a city, alone, together in the dark of the night that holds them like a house.
