He asked them for the reason for their arrival and was surprised to see that they wanted to go with the Wizard of Oz, since no one had done it for a while.

• They were on the right track and had already reached the kingdom of the Witch, when she saw strangers she decided to send her wolves first, but they died at the hands of The Tin Woodman, then she sent her wild ravens, but the scarecrow chased them away, and then she ordered bees to sting them, but they died when they ran out of their stingers.

• The Wicked Witch, angry with strangers, used the Golden Cap as a last option, where some winged monkeys came out. She sent them to kill everyone except the lion, but the winged monkeys did not harm Dorothy because she had the protective kiss of the Witch of the North, just like Toto.

• The Wicked Witch was scared to see the mark of the Power of Good and her silver shoes, but she later devised a plan to remove her shoes, as the girl seemed to have no idea of their power. When she managed to take one from her, the girl got angry and threw a bucket of water at him, not knowing that this would cause the death of the Wicked Witch of the West.

• Dorothy, after three days without hearing from the "Wizard" was called to speak with him, according to the man he could leave the country, but he was not sure if he could reach Kansas.
• They planned to make a balloon to travel through the air, so they began to build it. It lasted a few days, but in the end the balloon was made.
• The "Wizard" made the announcement that he was supposed to visit someone who lived in the clouds, so he left the Scarecrow in charge in his absence.
• While they were getting ready to leave, Dorothy couldn't find Toto, who had gotten lost for a moment, when suddenly Dorothy was abandoned by the "Wizard" when the ropes were broken, leaving her in the Emerald City.

As she does so, the strings holding the balloon loosen and the balloon rises into the air with Oz inside, leaving Dorothy behind.

• They were made to enter a separate room so they could get ready before seeing the witch Gilda. When they saw her, they believed everything they heard about her, because she really, despite her age, looks young, beautiful and kind.

• But the monkey king tells her that it is not possible to take her since they can only take her to places in the land of Oz and says goodbye to her after telling her this.
• The Scarecrow decides to call a soldier to tell him if it is possible to cross the desert, to which the soldier admits that no one has been able to cross the desert except for Oz, although he says that Glinda (The Witch of the South), can help Dorothy since she is very powerful and her castle is on the edge of the desert.

Although this situation surprises the Scarecrow, he is not injured, and the group continues their search for a way through the forest on their journey to the Southland.The trees seem determined to stop their advance, as the branches intertwine and throw the Scarecrow when he tries to pass under them.
• They discover that only the first row of trees had the power to bend their branches, as if they were the "policemen" of the forest, while the other trees did nothing to stop them.
• Dorothy and her group arrive in an unusual country full of porcelain houses, barns, and animal figures made of porcelain. They also discover that the people who live in this country are all small and made entirely of porcelain, including their clothing.
