We see that they have been historically marginalized and continue to be to this day through many societal setbacks. A common experience between us growing up was a poor education on Native people. We were given a white washed version of history.

She would want the class to have the understanding of cultural differences. They need to learn the lesson of respecting and valuing people of all identities. If the children knew about history of how indigenous people have been treated in Canada they may behave differently.
