Mao's three goals were: 1.He promised he would make would make the poor have a better. 2.He said he would make China more of a modern economy. 3.He pledged to restore the position of China being one of the major countries.
Some of the problems that Mao faced trying to accomplish these goals were the large number of poor people in China, the " Great Leap Forward", and the "Cultural Resolution". These problems caused China to go in riots, destroy crops, cause a famine, and also caused many of people to die of fights that occurred. The government was involved with this because the government was the one who decided to try out the "Great Leap Forward" and "Cultural Resolution" in hope to achieve their goals and only ended up causing more destruction.

The Restore of Agriculture

As one of their ideas to accomplish their goals, the Chinese government decided to restore the order of agriculture and o maintain it. The first attempt that the government made was when the government created "collective farms" which was when they forced peasants to work at farms and grow food, and were to receive a fair share of food no matter what. This system quickly got destroyed because the government was being unfair to the peasants and put a commune in control of them. This caused families to be separated, and eventually the peasants rebelled and even destroyed some of the crops they grew. Lastly while that was happening, the workers who were promised a fair share of food didn't do any work on the farm because they would get the same amount of food either way.

The Great Leap Forward was a plan that Mao and Chinese government(which were communists)came up with a plan to accomplish their goal of modernizing China's economy. Their plan was to create collective farms so that the peasants grew the food so no one else would have to and everyone gets a fair share. Also The government created communes which a large group of the people of China that are suppose to be in charge of a specific job for the growth of their economy. The communes were also in control of the peasants who worked and eventually started to separate the peasants family. Due to this the peasants rebelled and even did such rash things that they started destroying the crops they were growing. Apart from that the workers who were in charge of construction or other jobs, did very little work because they knew they were getting the same amount of food still. The government was involved because they were the ones chose how everything was set up and they were the ones who created the system in the first place.
