We can tell the child to be careful because most of the things that he sees in social media and video games aren't real life.

We can advise him by teaching ways to be informed with the right tools, including security and veracity. One of these ways can be researching trustworthy sites with reputation and a good history.

We can also advise him that it is not good to trust on every information he sees on the internet, he always needs to question himself about where does it come from and how it is being passed to the audience. That is why critical thinking must be stimulated, to make sure he does not fall on misinformation.

Whenever you need a more specific information, try to find it in reliable sources such as: global organization, United Nations and governamenral official plataforms

Take every daily opportunities such as a simple youtube video, a book or a series to think critically.

Always try to understand and racionalize what your parents and teachers teach to you. And if you don´t agree, research about the topic so you can have a mature discussion with them. It is okay to change your mind throughout the conversation.

Support children to play quizzes about facts, encouraging them to verify information encountered during gameplay.

Encourage children to ask their parents whatever they are insecure, for them to not be manipulated easily.

Advise children that it is important for them to criticize in their mind every information they listen from somebody.

When noticing a kid is having contact with misleading information, it is important to make use of their curiosity to make them reflect upon a certain piece of information. Asking them questions such as: why do you think what you saw is true? do you really think that was right? what proof did the person give? Make it a game, where the kid tries to convince you their point of view.
